How To Use Your Android Phone as Wi-Fi Hotspot

This post is about how I turn my ipad to wifi hotspot. I will share with you step-by-step on how to do this.
Setting up a Wi-Fi hotspot on your device allows you to access your iPad’s cellular data connection from other Wi-Fi-enabled devices like laptops, smartphones and other tablets. You can set up Apple’s iPad tablet computer to function as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot provided it’s running iOS 4.3 or later. Once you’ve set up your hotspot, in the future you can turn it on and off with a few taps in your iPad’s settings menu.

Step 1
Tap theSettings icon on your iPad.

Step 2
Tap Network and choose “General” to access your iPad’s network settings.

Step 3
Tap the Personal Hotspot button, located about halfway down the list of buttons that comprise the Network Settings menu. The Personal Hotspot menu will appear.

Step 4
Tap the small button labeled Off at the top of the Personal Hotspot menu. The button should slide left, turn blue and switch to “On.” If this option is not available, you don’t currently have Wi-Fi hotspot capability on your iPad. Contact your cellular service provider to add this feature to your iPad’s data plan.

Step 5
Enter a Wi-Fi hotspot password. This is the password other devices will need to know in order to access your iPad as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Your password has to be at least eight characters long and made up of ASCII/Unicode characters. You can’t, for example, type a password in Russian.
